Pajama Fabrics

When most people think about pajamas, the first thing that comes to mind is usually comfort.  And we all have our own preferences. Below are some of the most popular pajama materials.

The advantages of cotton pajamas are plentiful. It’s inexpensive and versatile while being lightweight, warm and soft.

Cotton Sateen

Sateen fabric has a luster and softness that makes it an attractive choice among fabrics. It tends toward a soft, luxurious feel and is found at a much lower cost than silk.

Flannel

A personal favorite, flannel material is a wool-based fabric, which offers extreme warmth. Flannel also wears well, which is why they are comfy and cozy at any size from toddler to adult.

Polyester

No longer known as a cheap and uncomfortable material, today’s micro fibers and polyester blends rival for comfort. Not to mention the strength, durability and wrinkle-resistance. This fabric is a great choice for curling up on a cold night with your favorite book.

Silk

Silk is the queen of luxury. They are loose and flowing and a joy to sink into after a long day at work or dealing with the kids. Silk is and always will be a favorite choice. They may cost more, but they are worth every penny. Everyone should have at least one comfy pair of silk pajamas.

Children’s Pajamas Standards

Children’s sleepwear is subject to strict flammability standards. The testing specified for children’s sleepwear requires that all garments and fabrics used in children’s sleepwear must self-extinguish when exposed to a small, open flame.
